Court Safety Guidelines

The sport of pickleball is considered friendlier on the body than other sports, such as any contact sport, like football or basketball, or even tennis. However, like any other sport, there is a risk of injury that comes along with playing the game. To help reduce the risk of injury on the pickleball court and play pickleball safely, consider the following pickleball safety tips:

  1. Court shoes are highly recommended for play. No sandals, flip-flops, or open-toe shoes.
  2. Know your physical limitations. Warm up before play by doing some static and dynamic stretches.
  3. Be aware of your playing area and its obstacles, know the physical dimensions of the court.
  4. Avoid backpedaling on the pickleball court.
  5. Call “ball on” to stop play when a ball rolls over to another court.
  6. Stay well hydrated and do not play if you become dizzy, disorientated, or unbalanced.
  7. Know your body and give it enough rest.
  8. Communicate with your partner to avoid confusion.
  9. In the event of an emergency and with no staff member present, please inform the Concierge team at the front desk.
