Tennis at The Claremont Club

With 27 Courts spread out over 24 acres, and 22 lit courts for evening play, we offer a robust tennis program guaranteed to bring you hours of fun. With lessons, clinics, club championships, club ladders, league play and court reservation.

All of the tennis pros at the Claremont Club are USPTA and USPTR Certified instructors. Private, Semi-Private and Group lessons are offered.

Adult Lessons

Lesson Rates:

Private lessons for members range from $75 to $96 per hour, depending on the experience level of the pro. (click tennis pro link below to see list of pros and lesson rates.)

Private lessons for non-members range from $90 to $111 per hour.

Lessons are usually booked in 30, 60 or 90 minute increments

Private group lessons for members:  $35 per hour per person for 3 people; $30 per person per hour for 4 or more people.

Private lessons for non-members:  an additional $15 per hour for adults and $10 per hour for junior players.  

Lesson availability depends on time requested and pro schedules.

Clinics

The club offers a variety of adult clinics for different levels to members and non-members. Sign ups are on a monthly basis.
 
Introduction to Tennis Clinic
Tuesday 5 pm | 60 minutes

Teams

Teams based out of the Claremont Club play in USTA leagues throughout the year. USTA teams play matches on weekends. Claremont has teams that play in both the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire Leagues. Typically, there are teams for the following levels:

Women’s 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5
Men’s 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5
Mixed 7.0 and 8.0

How to sign-up for Tennis Ladders?

1.

Open the Claremont Club Member Portal. Click on “Classes”, then select the date of the ladder.

2.

Scroll down to the time of the day the ladder is held. Select the ladder you wish to play.

3.

Enter your information and click on Register. Congrats – you are signed up.

Please note:  ladder sign-ups open 7 days before the ladder is scheduled and close 24 hours before the ladder takes place.

New Tennis Players

Want to get connected to the tennis community at the club?  Want more information?  We can’t wait to meet you.  Sign up for our next New Member Orientation to Tennis event.  Held Bi-monthly on Saturdays from noon to 1:30 pm, this program includes an on-court assessment with one of our pros, and then a meeting with tennis department staff to discuss our tennis programs. Email tennis@claremontclub.com to register for the next session.

Ball Machine Use

  • The ball machine feeds tennis balls to allow a player to practice his or her strokes
  • The club’s ball machine is available for rent to members for $10 per half hour.
  • It can be reserved for a half hour or an hour by contacting the Concierge Desk
  • Stop by the Concierge Desk to pick up the ball basket and extension cord before going up to Court 13 to use it
  • Please do not use regular tennis balls in the machine.  They jam the machine.  Use the pressureless balls that are provided.
  • Please return the ball basket and extension cord to the Concierge Desk when you have finished using the machine
  • The machine is located on Court 13, and can only be reserved and used during non-prime time hours:

Upcoming Tennis Events

In addition to the annual Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Parent-Child Tournaments the club runs, the Club has plans to organize a variety of social events for the upcoming year.  The Club will also host a number of high-level tournaments where pros and top level national players compete.
