*Due to spikes in COVID-19 cases and LA County ever changing guidelines, Phase 1 and Phase 2 are likely to last much longer. (revised 6/29/20)


  • It is our goal to reopen the Club safely and efficiently, and in compliance with all state and federal regulatory agencies, so that we can provide our employees and members with a safe, sanitary and healthy environment to work and to exercise.


  • The Club will open in phases to provide a gradual return to a “new normal.”  These guidelines are intended for Phase 1 and Phase 2 (2 weeks each), which will begin when we are given permission by our state governing agencies to do so.  


  • New temporary Club hours will be 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for Phase 1 and possibly Phase 2.  *see above (revised 6/29/20)

  • Capacities for each area of the Club are outlined below and will be enforced.  


  • Members will be limited to two (2) small workout towels only.

*Due to state and LA County recommendations and labor needed for check-in and sanitizing, we are asking members to bring their own bath towel for the pool and showers. (revised 6/29/20)


General Club Information:


  • All staff must initial our COVID-19 Action Plan Employee Questionnaire (which will be posted in every department) prior to the start of work.  

  • Members will be encouraged to limit their time at the Club to two hours or less.

  • Our elevator will be limited to one person or family at a time.

  • Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available throughout the Club.

  • A COVID-19 Questionnaire will be laminated and the members and employees will sign and verify their compliance.

  • Members will not be allowed to bring guests (non-members) initially, and employees will not be able to work out.  *we will revisit this after the week of July 6, 2020 (revised 6/29/20)

  • Temperatures will be taken upon entry to the Club.  Any member or employee with a temperature above 100.4 will not be admitted.  

  • Members will be encouraged to wear masks at all times.

  • All areas of the Club will be disinfected and sanitized throughout the day and evening, as-well-as prior to opening each day.

  • Water fountains throughout the Club will not be available in Phase 1 or Phase 2.

  • High touch areas will be wiped down hourly.

  • Plexiglas barriers will be installed in the following areas:

Front Desk

Fitness Desk

Sales Office

Kids Court

InZone 

Stone Clubhouse

Salon Retail Desk

Salon Pedicure Thrones

Weight Room Trainers Desk

Business Office

Registered Dietician Desk

  • Laminated signs will be posted in bathrooms to encourage 20-second hand washing

  • No cash will be accepted, member charge on account or credit card only


Front Desk


  • Members will be required to check-in one at a time after their temperature has been taken.

  • The outside and inside waiting area floors will be marked and signage will be posted for social distancing.

  • Members will need to remain 6 ft. back from one another, and enter slowly to allow time for clearance of the member ahead of them.

  • There will be no equipment check-out during Phase 1 and possibly Phase 2.

  • Employees will be limited to 2 at any one time and they must be wearing masks.

  • Members will not be allowed to take clothes from the Pro Shop to the locker rooms.  


Racquetball, Handball & Squash Courts


  • During Phase 1 and Phase 2, these courts will not be available for play.  They will be utilized for other needs as deemed appropriate by Club Management.


Club Café


  • Employee staffing will be limited to one person during Phase 1 and he/she will be required to wear a mask and to practice handwashing and sanitizing procedures during operating hours.

  • We will have a limited menu available during Phase 1 and possibly Phase 2.  All members will need to pick-up their order via the outside, fire lane window.

  • We will encourage members to place orders over the phone to limit contact.

  • We will ask for phone numbers for every order so we can call and notify you when your order is ready.

  • Take out orders will also be available.


Sales Office


  • There will be a maximum of two (2) Sales Associates in the office at any one time.  Their entire work area will be cleaned and sanitized in between shifts.  The Sales office should also be fogged in the evenings.

  • All Sales Associates will wear a mask until further notice.

  • We will not be issuing guest passes or temporary memberships until Phase 3.

  • All change requests will be accepted via email or phone only.

  • Plexiglas barriers will be installed on all three desks.

  • Sheila will be doing virtual health risk assessments.


Group Exercise


  • Studio capacities will be as follows:

Group Exercise : 20

Cycling                15

Yoga                    10

Pilates                  10


  • We will begin with fewer classes per day.

  • Group Exercise Instructors will be required to clean as part of their role.

  • We will continue to offer virtual live classes and schedule the classes around the classes in the Club.

  • We will allow for ample transition between classes to reduce congestion.  Possible 30 or 45-minute classes.

  • We will allow for 30 minutes between classes to ensure the disinfecting and sanitizing of the studio.

  • Members will be expected to wipe down their mat at the beginning and end of class where applicable.

  • Eliminate porous equipment like straps, bolsters, and foam rollers that can harbor the virus.  Bring your own or practice without.

  • All participants are encouraged to wear face masks.

  • Layne can offer online Pilates teacher training through July.


Group Exercise Studio


  • Have fewer classes with a 30-minute gap in between classes.  So each class can leave without running into everyone waiting to enter the next class.

  • Put floor stickers to direct traffic and for social distancing.

  • Create new entering and exiting class procedures.

  • Only provide enough equipment for the number of participants permitted in the studio.  Find a place to store the extra equipment or “rope” it off somehow.  This will eliminate having to disinfect and sanitize equipment that will not be needed daily/weekly.

  • Hand sanitizer, wipes, and mat cleaner must be checked after every class.

  • Once the class is full, the door will be closed and no other members will be permitted to enter.


Aquatics


  • The Olympic Pool will be configured short course which will allow for 14 lanes.

  • Swimmers will be limited to 2 per lane.

  • There will be 4 lanes reserved for members at all times.

  • The remaining 10 lanes will be designated for class/swim team purposes.

  • In each lane, one simmer starts from the North end of the pool, and one starts from the South end and repeats with an even number of laps only allowed (so swimmers are not sitting on the wall next to each other in the same lane to rest).  You can only rest on the wall you started at.

  • Master Swim Team will keep their regular practice times.

  • Pre-Comp will be combined with a Swim Team hour.


Swim Team


  • Swim Team will add practice times to accommodate lane usage.

  • Swim Team practice times will be: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

  • Privates will be conducted in the Olympic Pool for advanced swimmers only along the west wall.

  • Swim Team members will be required to arrive within 15 minutes of scheduled practice time, and leave the Club within 15 minutes after practice.  Swimmers will be dropped off at the Front entrance if they are 14 years and older.  Swimmers 13 years old and younger will be walked in by parents.  All swimmers will pass the Café and walk to the pool deck outside on the North Fire Lane.  Swimmers only will be allowed on the pool deck – parents will drop them off at the gate entrance to the deck.  Staff will be assigned to that location.

  • After practice, swimmers will exit the Club through the north turnstile.

  • Swimmers will be allowed to use the Olympic Pool restrooms only and one at a time.

  • No changing will be allowed in the restrooms.

  • Swim bags must be placed in designated areas 6 feet apart from others.

  • All personal items must be stored inside the bags.

  • Swimmers will be required to clean kickboards and pull buoys with wipes before returning them to the bin.


Aqua Classes


  • All classes need to have spaces large enough to accommodate for social distancing which means we need to limit attendance and possibly offer more classes.

  • Members taking classes must assist the instructor with sterilizing equipment they used in class.  

  • Members must get their own towels and drop them off in the Towel Bins when they finish using the pool areas.  Members must also pick up their own trash and place it in the appropriate receptacles. 

*No large towels in Phase 1 and possibly Phase 2. Applies to workout towels (revised 6/29/20)

  • Maximum of two (2) people in any Spa at one time.

*No spas in Phase 1 and possibly Phase 2 (revised 6/29/20)



Wellness/Fitness


  • All staff must wear a mask at all times.

  • Weight Room will be limited to 30 members at any one time and workouts to no more than one hour.

  • All Cardio equipment will be marked odd/even and will only be available on odd or even days.

  • Members will be limited to 30 minute workouts on Cardio equipment.

  • Social distancing will be mandatory in both the Weight Room and Cardio Room.

  • Trainers and members must wipe down equipment after use.

  • Personal Trainers may train but many will have to adjust their schedules to abide by the limiting number allowed in the weight room area and the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines.  

  • Virtual training will be allowed for those members not wanting to come into the Club.

  • Our Registered Dietician will have Plexiglas partition installed on her desk to assure 6 ft distance.

  • Dietician may continue virtual sessions if members prefer.


Locker Rooms


  • No use of showers in Phase 1

  • No use of  steam room, sauna, or spas in Phase 1 and Phase 2.

  • The middle sinks in each vanity area will remain closed.

  • If using the Lounge area, social distancing must be adhered to.

  • Procedures for toilet sanitization will be enforced.

  • Employees will wear masks and gloves at all times.

  • Members will be required to put their towel(s) in hamper bins and any trash in receptacles.

  • Social distancing is to be adhered to while in the locker room.

  • Each locker room will be offering essential amenities only.

  • Staff will be focused on keeping all areas of the Locker Rooms sanitized at all times.

  • Locker Room staff will clean and sanitize the Hydromassage chairs after each use.

  • New Standard Operating Procedures will include but not limited to how amenities are sanitized and displayed (i.e., toilet and urinal sanitation), the new procedures will also apply to larger-scale assignments, i.e., how and when to sanitize steam and sauna rooms and showers in Phase 3.


Childcare Department


  • All employees are required to wear face masks at all times.

  • Food preparation should not be done by the same staff who are diapering children.

  • Parents must sign a new waiver for their child(ren) stating it is at their risk if the child becomes ill.

  • Employee children cannot be checked in due to low ratios.  An exception will be made for current contracts as-long-as space permits.  No drop offs will be accepted in Phase 1 and Phase 2.

  • We will require a survey and temperature check for every child.  If a temperature above 99.4 the child will not be allowed.  Temperature checks will happen throughout the child’s stay.  Should a child have a fever during a temperature check, we would require immediate pick-up.

  • No diaper bags will be allowed.  Members must bring diapers, wipes, food, and anything needed for the stay, including an extra change of clothes in a large, zip lock bag with their child’s name on it.


Camps


  • We will offer virtual camps this summer

  • If regular camps are offered, space will be reduced and each parent must decide if they want their child to attend.  We will not be able to assure the social distancing of campers due to age and activity.


Tennis


  • We recommend singles play only to adhere to social distancing.  If you choose to play doubles, you are doing so at your own risk.  We recommend that you avoid social discussion while on the court and with social distancing guidelines when off the court.

  • Court time will be limited to one hour and thirty minutes only.

  • Singles Ladders will continue but social distancing is required, including at the Ladder Board area.

  • All tournaments have been cancelled through August.

  • Water fountains will not be available.  We encourage you to bring your own water.

  • Do not make physical contact with players (shaking hands or high fives).

  • Avoid touching your face after handling the ball.

  • Remain on your side of the court throughout your reserved time.

  • Remain apart from other players when taking a break.

  • When your match is over please leave as-soon-as reasonably possible.

  • Pros should be wearing masks until they enter onto the court and when exiting the court or talking with a member.

  • All players are encouraged to wear a mask when off the court.

  • Consider taking extra precautions such as the wearing of gloves.


Salon


  • All service providers will be required to wear a mask at all times.

  • Temporary hours for hair and nail services will be Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Monday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for people 65 and older and immune-compromised.  

  • Clients will be allowed in by appointment only.  As the client arrives, they will check-in via text message and will be answered by text message to enter the building and salon once their temperature has been taken and their service provider is ready.

  • Social distancing will be required. 

  • Clients will be required to wash their hands prior to beginning any service
