Pediatric & Young Adult Cancer Program

The Pediatric Cancer Program is a year round program developed to support children and families living with cancer.  The goal of the program is to get children integrated and socializing again with their peers, as well as using exercise as medicine.  As we know this disease affects the entire family. We expect parents and other siblings to participate in the program as well.  This will give parents a place to support one another, use exercise as a de-stressor and to bring enjoyment to the entire family.

The program meets twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the club.  It is required that child and one parent attend Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm consistently to be selected and remain in the program.  Program days and time are set and run from September through May with holidays off.  The summer months (June – August) we offer camps for the children.

We currently accept children from 5 to 18 years old; there are two separate age groups 5 to 10 and 11 to 18.

5 to 10 year olds

Our Childcare Team uses existing curriculum to integrate and include the children into the program through immersion. Established schedules include: sports, games, art, interactive play, parachute play, and music and movement all of which are utilized depending on the time of day and duration.
