Sports Camps (ages 7 to 14)

Those children that are athletically inclined would benefit from being enrolled in one of our Sports Camps.  These camps introduce sports theories, drills and exercise all within a fun and engaging atmosphere.  From basketball and tennis to track and field and everything in between, we offer camps for every athlete in your family; boys as well as girls.  Child athletes will get to continue their athletic training even while being in off season.  After their Sports Camp, children can complete the day and join their friends in one of our Fitness, Education or Specialty Camps.

 

BASEBALL CAMP

This camp will give your child fundamental skills about the basic rules and positions of America’s favorite pastime. Players will be equipped with a good understanding of different plays and techniques on the field.  Campers will learn how each position relates to one another and how each of these positions affects the play as the game unfolds.  Campers will gain the ability to know what each player are doing on the field and why they are doing it.

All sessions will meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 11:00 am

BASKETBALL CAMP

Each week of camp will cover the fundamentals of basketball.  Drills will be performed during the first segment and will include passing, dribbling, shooting, defending and rebounding.  During the second segment, games will be played that will incorporate the fundamentals learned that day.  The importance of sportsmanship and teamwork will also be emphasized throughout the week.  The last half hour may include a jump in the pool! Come with a great attitude, smile, a water bottle, and a basketball.

DANCE CAMP

This camp is an introduction to 4 different types of dance in one week! We will learn ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop while also exploring choreography and how to create dances. Throughout the day we will learn vocabulary, basic movements, and combinations for each type of dance as well as playing fun games like freeze dance! We hope to encourage creativity and mindfulness while also exercising and learning about how our bodies can move. Please wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving in, t shirts and leggings/ basketball shorts or dance wear, and tennis shoes for hip hop. We will practice mostly without shoes, but if you have ballet or jazz shoes you are welcome to bring them! Also bring your artistry, excitement, and a water bottle!

FOOTBALL CAMP

This program is a NON-CONTACT training for beginners and low-Intermediate level football players age 7-14.    It is focused on form tackling, agility training, blocking, throwing and catching mechanics, routes, reads, stemming, and formations.  Perfect for budding flag or tackle stars and a great intro to Junior High and High School football. The last half hour of the day may include a dip in the pool!

Week 6 (July 6th - 10th) Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am     

Cost: $140 for Members and $160 for Non-members

 

HOCKEY CAMP

If you’re already playing hockey, or just want to understand the game, this camp will definitely give you the skills you need.  You will learn your way around the rink, how to shoot, and pass the puck.  It will give you an understanding of the rules of ice hockey, positions on a hockey team, how to play safely, how to use good sportsmanship and tips for getting prepared to play ice hockey.

Week 3 (June 15th - 19th) Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am

SOCCER CAMP

Soccer players and fans join in! Skills, technique, and drills will be taught in a fantastic fun environment. Interactive games will be incorporated all week and will emphasize soccer fundamentals and skills in an innovative and interesting way! Check in and out on the grass field.

All sessions will meet Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 11:00am

TRACK & FIELD CAMP

If your child enjoys running, or wants to get involved in a sport that offers individual and team challenges plus many health benefits, Track and Field may be the perfect camp for your child.  This camp will prepare your child to do drills and training that will prepare them mentally and physically to improve their race performance.  This program will not only train your child’s physical body but also develop confidence and toughness as a runner.

Week 7 (July 13th - 17th) Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Cost: $140 for Members and $160 for Non-members

 

VOLLEYBALL CAMP 

Volleyball is a very popular California sport.  Show off at the beach or school as you learn the basic skills of passing, spiking, blocking, setting, serving and defense play.  Game strategies will also be emphasized – all in a fun and friendly environment.  See you at the Sand Volleyball Courts and be ready to enjoy yourself. The last half hour may include a dip in the pool.

WATER SPORTS CAMP

Take sports to the wet side!  In this fun and new camp, campers will get to play sports the wet and wild way!  From playing traditional sports games with water balloons to trying their hand at water polo, this camp is sure to offer your camper an opportunity to enjoy sports while cooling off from the summer heat in wild water fun!

Week 13 (August 24th - 28th) Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Cost: $140 for Members and $160 for Non-members

 

MOVEMENT SKILLS CAMP (Ages 4 – 9)

This camp will focus on the fundamental movement skills which are the basis for all physical activity that we do in sports, dance, gymnastics and other physical recreational activities. If children can develop these skills they are more likely to continue to be involved in physical activity later in life. The twelve fundamental movement skills are: balancing, running, jumping, catching, hopping, throwing, galloping, skipping, leaping and kicking each day of camp will focus on a different skill using fun games. A minimum of 6 and a max of 12 campers are needed.

All sessions will meet Monday through Friday 2:00-3:00 pm at the Racquetball Courts

Registration forms, payment, emergency information and signed waivers are due at 12:00 pm on Thursday prior to the week camp starts.  A non-refundable late registration fee of $60 will apply if received after this time.  The late registration fee cannot be waived.
