This course teaches you how to design and instruct Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) Reformer workouts in group or personal training settings for a range of clients. While IR may be taken prior to IMP, we recommend completing IMP first. In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:
• Effective use of the Reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
• How to develop programs for personal and group classes
• Essential, Intermediate and Power workouts
• Effective communication, visual skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
• Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
• Theory behind exercise modification development and usage
• Exercise layering related to effective program design

Prerequisites:
3 years (minimum teaching movement or fitness
Working knowledge of functional anatomy
30 hours of pilates classes/workouts

The workshop includes 2 full days of training, the nationally recognized Cancer Exercise Specialist Handbook, the Advanced Qualification Examination, 1.7 ACE, 1.6 NASM CEU's and/or 15 credit hours, and a 2-year listing on our online Cancer Exercise Specialist Directory!
The Cancer Exercise Specialist Advanced Qualification was developed for health and fitness professionals seeking to attain a higher level of mastery and work with cancer patients in post-operative exercise and quality of life programs. Following the workshop, there will be a take-home examination that candidates must pass in order to receive their advanced qualification.
